This week was an awesome Thanksgiving week! I am very grateful for all the love, support, and encouragement you all give to me as I serve my mission! <3
cows don't learn
Today we went by this guy named Jonathon. He is different. We gave him a Book of Mormon a few weeks prior and were checking to see how he is reading it. We showed up and he gave US a challenge! He told us that if we could face him in UNO and beat him then he would get baptized! But, if we lost then he said we would have to take a hit on his weed pipe!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Haha!! Luckily he didn't have any UNO cards with him at the moment, so we'll see how that turns out... people like him just don't see the real principles behind baptism and probably aren't ready haha
*slaps forehead*
We had a great lesson with Roberta who has gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon! Awesome! Now we're helping her gain an understanding of the Prophet Joseph Smith, she's so close :)

Composing my own song
Tuesday: November 26th
SNOW! We finally got some snow again, it was really fun slippin and slidin out of our driveway today haha. We had some good fun tracting in the 18° weather! Met a man who told us that he preferred to "speak with us only in tongues..." haha, crazy man.

Cold feet anyone?
Wednesday: November 27th
We taught Tina this morning the principles of faith, trust, and humility. There are so many people who struggle to realize what true faith is in the Lord. People have faith in Him, yet as soon as times get hard they murmur or doubt their foundation. I know Heavenly Father gives us specific trials in our life to refine us! If it wasn't hard to overcome tough trials, do you think it really would be worth it? The greater the sorrow we feel, the greater the capacity we have to experience true joy. Without wind a kite can't fly. But the key is to anchor ourselves to the Savior to so when the winds of life are throwing us around we can soar to greater heights with Him. Just a thought, ya goofs ;)
Thursday: November 28th
Happy Thanksgiving! Definitely a good day, I gave my training in District Council which went really went and we all got some much needed revelation and upliftment! We then had a fun Zone activity were we all played volleyball with the 20 or so missionaries in the zone.
My Zone! Don't ask about the suits...
Drove 2 hours home to get to a Thanksgiving party Roberta had invited us to. We walked in and her WHOLE family was there, up to a great grandma. Missionary mode clicked in and we befriended all of them by talkin about Monticello, huntin, and wrestling, haha! Works every time... ;) We then had another dinner with some awesome members in Norwood. Great first Thanksgiving as missionary.
Friday: November 29th
I forced... *cough* I mean, strongly encouraged Elder Garstin to come running with me, haha. It was raining, windy, and snowing hail in this giant storm outside but we still ran! Our faces got pelted by the hail, it was awesome :) We taught Billy the Restoration. He told us that it would be the "pinnacle of life" if he could find God's true church here on the earth. I've gained a personal testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ is God's restored church here on the earth. Why isn't this just another "claim" from another church? Because I have seen miracles in my life, I have felt the Holy Ghost touch my heart, and I know! I know it and cannot deny it. A serious study of the Book of Mormon has revealed these truths unto me, and I know that God loves His people enough to give a second witness of His truth. I promise the Book of Mormon holds revelation specific to you, and as you read, the Spirit will touch your heart as you seek understanding!
Sunrise as always :)
Saturday: November 30th
CRAZY STORY:
Stopped by this guy named Herb and literally halfway into our conversation he STRAIGHT UP asked us, "Are you guys married?" Haha, Elder Garstin and I both looked at each other and then at the rings on our right hands. Mine says "Called to Serve" and his says "Choose the Right" haha! How in the world do some people believe that two 18 year old guys, wearing missionary nametags, are married and are going around preaching about Jesus... Nucla is crazy... ;) Throwing back to Monday with Jonathon's UNO challenge, there was a random kid from his neighborhood that ran up to us and said, "So are you guys really going to get high with Jonathon after you guys lose in UNO?" OH. MY. GOSH. Haha, of course we're not going to get high, because we are not going to lose! Literally all the trailerhome neighborhood is hyped to have us missionaries come over and face Jonathon in UNO... what have we gotten ourselves into?! We'll see how this one turns out... #OnlyInRita

Snow Hail, fun to drive in!
Sunday: December 1st
Christmas season is the BEST! Today at church we had a grand TOTAL of 24 people there! Holy cow #BranchLife
Haha, I love the little Branch I get to serve in out here in the middle of the desert ;) We had a few lessons fall through which was a little disheartening. But Elder Garstin and I really identified many things we want to improve on and want to give up unto the Lord in order to become more dedicated missionaries and disciples of Christ! He's a great companion. Matt and Jamie told us that they wanted to join the church so they could get food storage and go on a senior mission, haha! Savages, I love them.
Hope y'all enjoyed this weekly! Have you noticed I keep saying y'all? I'm becomin' more and more ColoRADo mountain man every day! Heck ya, that's right ya goofs... ;)
Love you all,
