A hardworking week on the good ole Colfax!

Monday: July 19th
We got to visit Red Rocks Park and I have to say this place is AWEsome! I'm definitely going to bring my family here. We taught Sue about temples and you can tell how happy she was when she realized she could help her fellow ancestors follow their Savior Jesus Christ too because of her example and efforts. :) I know this to be true!

Red Rocks!
Tuesday: July 20th
HAPPY 20th!!! <3 Today was an amazing day. We taught Sharon a lot about the purpose of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The purpose is in the name of course, but the reward is within the spirit of the pages! Please diligently seek the Lord's hand in your life as you study from His word.

Wednesday: July 21st
Sue was pretty sick but determined to still prepare for her baptism, she is the definition of endurance! We talked alot about the Refiners Fire and how sometimes Heavenly Father needs us to be more patient until we grasp a full eternal perspective on the reason why behind the trials we all face. Hold onto hope!

Yep. That's a spray painted brass knuckles right there... we were walking around an apartment called "The Zoo

Thursday: July 22nd
Went on my last exchange today and that was my 90th exchange I've done on my entire mission! Wow, lots of hard work. I also had my departing interview with President Rees, we talked alot about some important decisions in life and the counsel that the Lord has given us for those situations! Trust the Lord. Fear thou not... :)

Outside the Tufts building for my interview

Friday: July 23rd
Thorough and hard working day!
Rose! Who doesn't love La–"Roses"?

Saturday: July 24th
Sue's baptism! And also, my 2 year mark in the mission! It was a powerful and unforgettable day. I'm so glad seeing Sue so happy! She invited many friends and it was absolutely amazing to see her on her path of discipleship with a clean slate. I know that Jesus Christ set the perfect example for us and if there be any flaws it is the flaws of mankind. I know my Savior lives!
New CO Gear of course

Sunday: July 25th
Church was awesome, they snagged me to speak again so I talked alot about Christlike love and how to spark a desire within others to see the blessings of coming to our Savior Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ is everything to me. I am deeply grateful and humbled to the depths for the many many refining trials I have experienced throughout my mission as a type of the things I need to be prepared for in my life. Thank you Heavenly Father! I love being a missionary :)

Work hard, hand in hand, with the Lord <3

WEEK #104 - Faith to Climb Mountains

***SAVE THE DATE***

Besides our A.C. sounding like a dying cow all week we've been having a blast in our 85° apartment! :)

Monday: July 12th
Had a great conversation with Sue today about her baptism! We talked faith like a mustard seed. To think if we had faith that small we could move mountains... that makes me think– then how small is my faith? Haha, I believe the Lord is really teaching us to exercise our faith in meaningful ways. He wants us to plant our seed of faith and become deeply rooted in the soils of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Sorry, no pictures this week! Just working hard but here's a sneak peek into more for next week :)

Tuesday: July 13th
Today was my last Zone conference. We focused heavily on the principles of love, share, and invite. Everything in this Gospel should and should always be connected back to the pure love of our Savior Jesus Christ <3 I gave my departing testimony and talked about three pieces of advice I'd give to every missionary... the last of which is to never lose focus on the Savior.
YOU ARE INVITED!

Wednesday: July 14th
Today we heard our friend Sue was rushed to the hospital! Many prayers and fasting were given to the Lord for her, please include her in your prayers! The Lord is very mindful of all the challenges we face. A wonderful friend of mine reminded me this week of the phrase, "If it's hard, it's worth it." Nothing worthwhile in this life usually comes without some sort of divine sacrifice.

Thursday: July 15th
Lots of teaching skills worked on today as we talked with people over zoom and Facebook! Our friend Sue is recovering well and is oxygen tanks now, she is so determined to still get baptized! Wow, what a heart. It won't be this Saturday, but she's been fighting a lot so I thank you for your continued prayers.

Friday: July 16th
Some thorough planning done today, it was a hard working day! I'm grateful to be a missionary for the Lord :)

Saturday: July 17th
Did some service at a trailer park (shoutout to Naturita, haha!) and overall it was a great day serving others.

Sunday: July 18th
Sharon came to church and asked us lots of great questions! She said many things just clicked for her this week and she's seeking to come to know if the Book of Mormon is true. She sincerely wants that confirmation from God and I can promise that anyone who follows a similar, but personal to YOU, pattern will know from Heavenly Father what is truth.

I know each of you can develop the Christlike Capability you need to move the mountains in your life. Please know that when a mountain is moved– it is still there, so you might as well just climb it to discover the beauty above the clouds... Love you all!!! <3

WEEK #103 - Clothed in Sweaters and Smoke

***SAVE THE DATE***

Keldon will give his Homecoming talk Aug 1st 10am-12pm with an Open House to follow

at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 275 Warpas Road, Madison, CT

Another packed week, but workin hard on the Fax :)

Elder LaRose smile :)

Monday: July 5th
Besides the fact that my companions love the FREEZING apartment it was a good day! Haha, I have to wear 200 flippin sweaters inside cause of how cold they both like it... I need my floor heater again like I did in the Naturita trailer... :) Had a good celebration of the 4th of July too with a Ward party.

Tuesday: July 6th
Exchanges in a Spanish area... dang gina! I haven't been in a Spanish area since September 2019. I taught an English Connect class with Elder Mendoza and that was an insane experience! I couldn't speak a lick of anything so I just sounded out the alphabet and drew on the board haha. Definitely a fun learning experience, it forced me to speak only the simple necessities.
Elder Mendoza exchanges! No espaƱol

Wednesday: July 7th
The Assistants asked me and Elder Proctor to train the whole mission... haha, that was definitely fun! We trained on How To Begin Teaching and setting expectations so that others know that our purpose as missionaries is to invite them to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ! Very empowering and we focused a lot of roleplays with the emphasis on becoming a Christlike missionary <3

Thursday: July 8th
Talked with Sue today and she was so happy and laughing! She is getting excited for her baptism on the 17th and she's overcome a LOT to get there. Our Savior Jesus Christ can truly change any heart :) We just need to fully give our heart to Him!

When you totally forgot to buy cereal for the week so you resort to buying gas station cereal cups so you don't have to starve at breakfast because you don't know how to cook anything else........ haha!

Friday: July 9th
Hard work today. That's about it :) When your clothes smell like cigarettes, weed, and smoke then you know you're hanging out with, and helping change, the right crowd. "I am not come to call the righteous but the sinners to repentance." (Matthew 9:13) And I've thoroughly enjoyed my time helping them despite the many temptations to turn inwards, our Savior Jesus Christ has given up everything for us to have His healing power. I can give up something like smelling nice so they can have everything too!
My companions cookin :)

Saturday: July 10th
Exchanges today with the Assistants was awesome, I went with my old companion Elder Barnes in Orchard. All our lessons fell through but we still worked hard on Facebook and caught up on old times. :) Everyone knew I was going to be back in Englewood so they all made sure to be out of town haha.

Sunday: July 11th
Great day! Church was great and we talked with our friends Sue and Sharon. We began teaching a lady named Sharday who's definitely a character haha. While we're praying she says, "Um-huh... amen Lord, yes Lord.... praise. Praise Lord." Haha, what a fun person :)

Love you all!! Remember the Christ.

WEEK #102 - Happy America Day!

Another crazy week on the Fax! What a fun way to live each day.
Ameri-Rado

Monday: June 28th
A great day today, talked to family and got to teach a couple people in the evening! Sue is progressing really well for her baptismal date of July 17th. It's coming up close but she really wants to take the steps neccessary to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ!

Tuesday: June 29th
Today was MLC in Avon so that was a fun 2 hour drive. Please pray for the Marshall family if I may ask, there was a recent tragedy and my heart aches for them and their family. The Lord will help us all understand one day, but until then we must trust His guiding and loving hand.
Rainbow time

Wednesday: June 30th
We had a great lesson with Sharon who really was touched by learning about the Plan of Salvation! She asked questions like, "Where do people go after they die? What happens to people who never even heard about Jesus Christ and the Gospel? How can my family live together forever?" All of these and many more are answered as we seek the truth about Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness for you. Feel free to message me to learn more about this life changing plan :)

Thursday: July 1st
I can't believe it's July. Stop it. Dang Gina, it's going to be a crazy month! On Colfax we drove past an arrest where there was one person and 8 cop cars surrounding them.... dang gina! Good ole Colfax. We taught Sue again and she really recognized the inner peace that the Spirit of the Lord brings into our heart as we let Him in! I've felt this peace before even amidst my own greatest personal struggles. There is peace in Christ.

It's too cold in this flippin apartment, I'm wearing a sweater in July!

Friday: July 2nd
Quote of the day:
Elder Proctor: "How smooth are your pants Elder LaRose?"
Elder LaRose: "Tooo smooth!"
Haha! What a goof. Happy birthday Momma!!! Love you!! Today was a hard working day, we saw this one guy walking down Colfax carrying this big sledgehammer so that was definitely interesting... we also tried to find this one guy in a trailer park only to run into a LOT of creepy people speaking creepy things. We did NOT get good vibes so we left pretty quick! It's so sad to see others living in such horrible conditions and they're fine with it. I want to help them, and I pray that Christ will too.

Saturday: July 3rd
Exchanges today was VERY crazy! We found a used 9mm bullet shell outside this one apartment complex we visited, only to be swarmed by these crazy people who wanted to hold our hands and pray with us. Elder Davis was getting a lot of attention and so we got out of there! We helped push this broken down truck to the gas station too so overall I learned a super valuable lesson that will stick with me the rest of my life– that lesson is: SMILE. Just smile! Put your trouble in perspective and smile. I definitely was humbled today and had to search for ways to be cheerful and smile knowing that in the end the Lord lives and I love serving Him. So, smile! :)
Exchanges, Elder Davis

Sunday: July 4th
Happy 4th of July!! America day. It was a great day today! I loved going to church and seeing our friends there Sue and Sharon. It was definitely a Christ centered and peace filled environment! I encourage each of us to more fully center our lives on our Savior Jesus Christ. You will begin to see so much more light and cheerfulness enter into your heart!
