WEEK #44 - A New Beginning...

This week went by quick. We finally have some more missionaries coming into our mission!
River bridge selfie... I've ran out of names for these haha

Monday: May 18th
Today. Was. Insane. I'm just really grateful for God's hand in our life. He truly has a wonderful and mysterious plan for each of us! We may not understand all the kinks and wrenches that may get thrown into our plans, but I know that the Lord is very mindful of our desires. He knows our hearts. He listens. And He blesses us according to our desires, faith, and prayers, which all may come in mysterious ways. It all comes down to trusting and loving Him! :)

Tuesday: May 19th
Had a great combined District council, trainings went well. We had a great member lesson today, probably the only one we've had in like 3 weeks. It's a struggle over here, but we're pretty busy with facebook! Angela decided to be baptized on June 13th! I can't wait to help her finish and progress the rest of the way :)

Wednesday: May 20th
Happy 20th ya goof! Today we had SOO many meetings. And we were on virtual exchanges with our DL. We planned a bunch and sat in more meetings. We then got mini transfer news! Real transfer news comes on June 2nd, but me and Elder Samojla are staying. I can't wait for all the new missionaries we are getting!
Pretty neat pic :)

Thursday: May 21st
Today we gave a training with the facebook specialist team to the mission. Things are going well over here with the FB Intitative! We were on virtual exchanges with the Assistants which is always fun 'being' with them, haha. This Corona Virus really has changed the world and how things work, but one thing that doesn't change is the Lord's will! :)
Cool tree picture!

Friday: May 22nd
We had some difficulty today with technology... we had a 55 minute meeting with our two old ward mission leaders. 55minutes?! Well... it was actually 45minutes of helping them figure out the technology AGAIN. Haha! Oh my gosh... it's so sad. We're patient though... :)

Saturday: May 23rd
Today was driving galore! We picked up a ton of Elders for transfers and moved all their stuff from Rifle to Montrose. Colorado has such beautiful scenery. I can't wait to show my family! ;) Such goofs. I ran into Elder Bunker in Rifle! He's one of my best friends from Monticello who got reassigned to my mission!! Welcome to the CDSM :)

Dead end... dang it
Sunday: May 24th
Today was awesome! I ran into the Youngs today at my apartment. They used to live in CT with me. They are the absolute flippin best! Matt, Jake, Peter, and Aaron are all mullet rockin, redneck savages!! I love them all ;)

Today we got to talk with Carol, Danyel, and Angela!! I love them all so much. We also had a really good facebook live, I always love explaining how much the Gospel means to me! We all can do that in our own simple way too. A testimony is an expression of what you live and love in the Gospel :)

I love you all, please keep safe! Email me to learn more about how much this Gospel can bless you too ;)

Love,
Elder LaRose

WEEK #43 - Quality Quarantine

Hellooooooo! Welcome welcome. Hopefully you enjoy following my journey out here in Colorado! Love you all.
Dynamic Duo!

Monday: May 11th
Today. Was. Amazing. So much happiness and joy :) We've been in quarantine for about 7/8 weeks now... Fun! :) At least I got to talk to my awesome fam. We had a really powerful lesson with Carol over the phone. The Spirit was strong and we talked about baptism! She's been reading and gaining so much from the Book of Mormon. I love seeing so much peace enter into one person's life as they truly study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage YOU to do the same, and you'll find that peace begin to enter into your life :)

Tuesday: May 12th
Today was Zone Conference! That was virtual... again. So weird to do "get togethers" while sitting in your apartment haha. It's alright, we have friends here to keep us company... the cockroaches!! Yes. Yes. We have flippin roaches! The total kill count so far IN OUR apartment has been 60... 60! Oh well. Mission life I guess. :) We actually named all the roaches in our house "Jerry" so whenever we see a roach we scream that we found Jerry and then drench it in Raid spray.

Finally got a haircut!! ;)
Wednesday: May 13th
We had a bunch of facebook meetings today that we ran with our area pages. Facebook is so fun right? It's not just for old people, haha! :) We had a great lesson with Angela, she's been hit hard the past few days but she'll make it. Her end goal is enduring joy and lasting peace! What about you? Do you desire those things? Well then, email me and I can help show you how :)

Thursday: May 14th
Had another great lesson with Angela, she is progressing well and I love seeing her have so much more peace in her life through the Gospel! The best way to gain peace in your life is to recognize the peace that God has already given you in your life. Then look to Christ and find more peace in Him!

Friday: May 15th
CRAZY STORY:
Me and Elder Samojla were walking out of our apartment for a break today only to run into a flippin SQUAD of policemen wearing Kevlar and aiming M4s everywhere. There was apparently a guy walking around our apartment complex with a gun! That was crazy. Just the classic day in Grand Junction. Me and Elder Samojla sprinted inside and were sneaking pictures from our window. Other than that, pretty normal day in quarantine life :)

We are being watched... :0
Saturday: May 16th
Today we got to film our Diligence video for our facebook page (Yes, I did indeed put pretzels in the fridge, ya goof ;) Go watch it if you haven't! We had a lesson with Angela, she's progressing really well. We taught her more of the commandments we commit to live before we're baptized. One of which is to be clean in our thoughts and actions. The Lord truly does bless us and work miracles according to our desires! :)

Sunday: May 17th
We were able to video chat Angela and now Danyel into a sacrament! So happy to see Danyel again, it's been awhile. We got a random call from someone asking to start being taught the Gospel... what a miracle! Stuff like that never happens! The Lord's hand truly is in His work <3

I love you all, be safe, eat your pretzels, and know that you goofs are awesome :)

WEEK #42 - "It's true... all of it" - Old Han Solo :)

Great week! Hope everyone enjoyed staring at their walls in their homes again. Don't worry, trust Him and fear not. This'll be over when the Lord deems so :)
Scrips are the best :)

Monday: May 4th
Happy Star Wars day!! :) Isn't Star Wars just the best?! Yes it is. Today was crazy awesome. Such goofs we are! :) We got a text out of the blue from Angela saying that she finished her last cigarette and wasn't going to buy any more!!!! Angela is such a stud. She's been working very hard to overcome these things and through applying the Gospel and Atonement of Jesus Christ it IS making this possible for her! I can promise as each of you reading this learn how to apply our Savior's sacrifice into your life, you will find greater peace, joy, and unity. Don't know how to start? Email me or your local missionaries! :)

In the mornin, I'm makin waffles!

Tuesday: May 5th
Happy anniversary Ky and Shay! Love those two :) Today we had a great lesson with Angela talking about the Kingdoms of Heaven. Bascially, how God is going to judge us and where we will reside in Heaven. Some cool stuff! If YOU want to learn more about it, feel free to email me. :)

Wednesday: May 6th
We called Carol again, she's so funny. She just loves talking to us and reads so much in the Book of Mormon! We also heard from our district that two people who were found through facebook have committed to be baptized on June 11th, yay!! So much joy comes from following Christ and His example.

Thursday: May 7th
Trained in another all mission meeting, we got to welcome 8 more missionaries! One of them is from MONTICELLO UTAH!! :0 His name is Elder Thomason. Too bad I don't know who he is yet. I hope I serve with him, haha. We drove to Rifle to help with transfers. This is the first time in 2 months I've left GJ. So crazy.

Friday: May 8th
Today we drove around delivering some stuff to our Zone. Today went by super fast, but the mission has been getting blessed by so many miracles. The mission has found a few people through Facebook that have expressed a desire to be baptized! So awesome.

 The Studs <3

Saturday: May 9th
Today me and Elder Samojla went ham planning our training for Zone Conference, haha. Fortunately for us, when we were on our walk today we weren't harrassed by the neighborhood kids. Yesssss. We also got news that we can go get haircuts on monday!!! I didn't ever think that would've been such a blessing on my mission, haha. Good stuff :)

AWEsome sunset!
Sunday: May 10th
Today was AWEsome. We got Angela to sacrament, and we had a phone call with Carol! She doesn't really have the technology to video chat. I don't blame her :) I love how the Lord's Gospel truly isn't even hindered by a worldwide pandemic. Hmm, coincidence? I think not! :) A wise person once told me, "coincidence is Gods way of remaining anonymous." Hmm, that's also pretty true ;)

I encourage you to sincerely look for the Lord's hand in your life! If you don't know where to start, pick up your scriptures and say a prayer. I love being a missionary!

WEEK #41 - "Did you really just buy glasses?".... "Maybe"

Another crazy, sporadic, event filled week! Hopefully these new blue light glasses I bought make me look like Clark Kent. ;)
Chillin in the chairs

Monday: April 27th
Great day ;) We got to talk to our crazy families (Nothing has changed with that haha) and actually had another phone call lesson with Carol! She's awesome and has been reading the Book of Mormon for about 3 months. It's so amazing to see the change in people happen so quick. That's why I love being on my mission, because I learn how to change :) Good luck to all those in college!

Tuesday: April 28th
We had MLC from 9am until 3pm... that was crazy! We talked alot about the needs of our mission. I think we all need to learn how to be patient, me especially. It's hard to not have control over things because we all want to do things right. But, we must trust in the Lord and excersize our faith in Him! :) Angela is doing well. She's been struggling but has been pushing through it! We then met with the Church's Commumications Director and talked more about the Facebook Initiative. That was insane! So many meetings, so many important people, and it's just me and Elder Samojla. The simple life :)

Wednesday: April 29th
Today was crazy. We had district council and the rest the day we spent stressin over President calling us to give an hour training TOMORROW to the whole mission. Fun times!

Thursday: April 30th
Today we gave another all mission training on facebook. We are all still learning! :) Me and Elder Samojla decided to go buy some more cockroach spray for all these nasty ROACHES we have in our apartment!! So far our kill count is flippin 40... dang gina! I guess that's life in quarantine for us. I also bought glasses because I wanted to. :) We then met with a representative of the MTC (missionary training center). Wow, it's been over 9 months since I've been there! Crazy how time flies. We talked about some good ideas we can use on facebook. We had an awesome lesson with Angela where I shared my experience with my Uncle Danny passing away last year. She was really touched by that, seeing how she's had a similar experience, and the Spirit was really strong. Gotta love the joy and leave this Gospel brings. :)

 Masks... again!

Friday: May 1st
Welcome May! It seems like I've asked a lot of "May I?" questions, haha! ;) Me and Elder Samojla came up with something called the Facebook Standards of Excellence. Basically a mission wide goal to help us be successful online. Our main purpose is to invite others to come closer to Jesus Christ! Even if He is an already important aspect of your life, I invite you to email me and I will explain how you can come even closer to Christ than you ever thought before :)

Saturday: May 2nd
Today me and Elder Samojla filmed the piano song I made to post on facebook. If you haven't had a chance to see it, go check out my Facebook!
Talkin to the crazies

Sunday: May 3rd
Had a great fast. Fasting is such an important part to my life, even though it is a difficult physical sacrifice for anyone. Angela got another blessing, she's really pushing through these last few days. I know that she is receiving strength as she turns to the Lord for her needs. May we ALL turn to the Savior for strength, peace, and direction in our life! Trust me, it works :)

I hope and pray that everyone who reads these is being blessed through this trial, though life is thrown in great uncertainty right now the best thing we can do is Trust God and move forward one step at a time!

Love,
Elder LaRose
