Glad to be back, this week was pretty great cause I put in over 50 hours of driving in! Phew!
Monday: September 30th
Spent 8 hours at the church emailing and calling family. Haha, it's so hilarious being the only place with wifi within a 50 miles radius ;) Don't worry, Elder Gunson and I are planning another Telluride day or a hiking day soon! It was so great to talk with my family, Kyler was on DURING his class at BYU haha, and Mc was talking while riding his longboard. Goofs... We stopped by Mark's house (the guy who came to church!) I told Elder Gunson to "bring the Quad" because Mark loves to bash haha. He basically started spewing out tons of false claims about our church and how "corrupted and worldly" we were but we refuted all his claims by using his own Bible. The Spirit led me to bring up a couple scriptures in Amos, Genesis, Matthew, and Mark that totally shut him down. He told us "the Pagans wrote Genesis" Haha, I was getting fed up so I simply just bore testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and of Joseph Smith being a true prophet called by God and immediately asked, "Can we end with a prayer?" Haha, I love Mark. We drove over to Tina and we started to go over the Addiction Recovery Program with her. The first step is Honesty and she told us what she was addicted to but as we kept going through the sections I bore testimony to her of the infinite reach of Christ's Atonement and that none of us have to stay who we are! NONE of us have to keep clinging onto the guilt of the past! NONE of us need to be harrowed up by our sorrows to drag us down into endless misery! Come unto Christ, and you can be perfected in Him. Anyone can change :)
Uncompahgre Aspens!
Beautiful yellow
Drove up to District Council through Uncompahgre mountains again! The leaves are all changing so I've taken a ton of pictures haha.

The view while driving with Elder Thygerson!
I got to go on exchanges this week, wooooo! Elder Gunson stayed in Cimarron with Elder Berry and I got to drive home with Elder Thygerson! He's such an awesome Elder :) We both saw many miracles in Naturita, including being protected from being hit by this speeding truck as we were driving through the mountains. I'm excited to work with Elder Thygerson!

Wednesday: October 2nd
Elder Thygerson and I had a lesson with Tina and Karen. We read Enos and talked about being spiritually prepared to see the face of Christ with pleasure and not shame! We later then we able to find two new people, Shane and Jay! What an awesome miracle :) We had this awesome idea that we got from the Sisters, we decided to COVER Roberta's entire front door with sticky notes that had encouraging scriptures and messages on them! We felt like sneaky criminals haha. We later found out that she had a really bad day that day and when she came home she was overjoyed at our sticky notes! She even took them all off the door and put them on the backside of the door in her house so that she could always see them when she leaves the house :) What another miracle! Elder Thygerson and I really get along well, we rewarded ourselves for the hard work by looking at the stars and Milky way.
Thursday: October 3rd
Today I spent 12 hours driving! Dannnnng gina! I drove to Montrose (BEAUTIFUL fall pics) to reexchange with Cimarron, then as I was driving from Montrose to Delta we were being passed by a diesel near Olathe and we hear a big BOOM. We thought nothing of it until two minutes later I felt the back right tire start to give so I quickly pulled off the highway and we had a FLAT TIRE!! Haha!
We had a spare luckily. But it was just outright hilarious that we got a flat tire, while driving to Grand Junction, AND we happened to be right next to a gigantic weed field... awesome! The perfect scene for Colorado :)
FLAT TIRE by a WEED Farm!
Grand Junction was great, Elder Gunson was getting some training for his leadership position as District leader. Then I got to drive the 4 hours home, yay! ;) I got to drive through Ridgeway and the San Juan mountains are breathtaking! They're super jagged and very colorful, it was so awesome to be able to drive through them. Elder Gunson actually got pretty sick so we headed in for the night early. How was that for a day of driving? :)
The Lengendary Kingdom of Naturita... aka the Trailerhouse
Friday: October 4th
We waited for Tina to show up for a lesson for an hour. She canceled :( We had dinner with the Sickels and guess what they fed us?? ELK MEAT :) It was sooooo good, and a flashback to Cello. We had another lesson with Roberta! Sister Redd was there with us too and we talked about the ten commandments, keeping the sabbath day Holy, and following the prophet. She agreed with us and asked some good questions, I love Roberta and truly desire for her to find healing through Christ and overcome her fears!

Saturday: October 5th
Today was General Conference! Basically we get to watch a televised program of leaders in the church giving talks or speeches focused on Jesus Christ and how we can more fully become disciples of Him! I really love conference, it's such a great opportunity to receive personal revelation as to how you can best come closer to Christ. I invite you all to watch or read the talks given in General Conference, they will bring renewed peace and direction in your life as you study them! You can find them at churchofjesuschrist.org :) We went over to Matt and Jamie's house and here's yet another crazy story....
CRAZY STORY: We went over to their house and we walk in and Matt is singing at the top of his lungs while sifting through this HUGE box of weed trying to find all the buds. Being missionaries, we ask what he's doing and Matt begins to tell us the intricate and delicate process of extracting the THC from the weed...haha! THEN even CRAZIER he took us to his weed garden and started showing us his plants. I handed my phone to Elder Gunson so he could take secret pictures of me in the weed garden talking with Matt.... ;) THEN he plucked a yellow pear tomato from his garden and gave it to me. I asked, "Can I eat it?" And he said sure! I guess I can now say that I ate a tomato that was growing literally in a marijuana plant garden.... How crazy is that?!?! Haha :)
Matt's "Mary Jane" Garden :)
We went over to Redvale for afternoon Conference which was awesome! I loved, "Half-Hearted commitment to our covenants does not guarantee anything" from Elder Renlund. We were heading back to attend the Women's Session with Roberta and we ran into Matt and Jamie AGAIN! When we asked if they actually got to watch Conference they gave us the MOST SAVAGE response ever....
Normally during General Conference to keep busy and focused we do some fun activities. Some families like to play bingo using candy, others have coloring books, or take notes..... but here in Colorado they watch conference while they sift through their weed. Oh my gosh, haha! Matt told us, "I was watching it while I was going through weed." Well... at least we got them to watch it! ;)
Sunday: October 6th
Sunday General Conference! Cool quote, "the potential of what we could learn and become was well worth the risk." This is totally applicable in relationships, in school, and with becoming a disciple of Christ! We had a dinner with Dan and taught him the Plan of Salvation and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he's a very nice guy and I hope we can keep working with him!
Crazy week, love talking to you all!
Love,
